This immersive experience offers workshops, seminars, hands-on demonstration gear, and personal instruction in stunning underwater locations. It allows participants to refine their skills and stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and underwater photography equipment. Our on-site staff includes top-level experts from Backscatter, top brands, and world-renowned experts. OUR TWO WEEK SCHEDULE
One week isn't enough for all the great diving, learning, and fun at The Digital Shootout. Our two-week schedule allows us to offer even more classes without having to choose between attending a seminar or going on the afternoon dive. You can now do it all!
Each afternoon there will be a seminar after the PM boat dive and every other evening there will be an image critique up on the big screen. Classes the first week will cover the basics of underwater photography and Lightroom techniques and gradually move to more advanced topics.

SPECTACULAR CAYMAN DIVING

Joel is the founder of Newmediasoup, LLC, a multimedia and event coverage company. He also provides multimedia projects for Backscatter Underwater Video & Photo and is a part of their digital media team. Joel was an early adopter of the use of DSLR cameras for shooting high definition underwater video and currently shoots 4K Ultra High Definition video as part of his business. He is also an active product tester for Backscatter assisting with underwater video camera testing and video editing for new products. His images have been published in various magazines, such as, Scuba Diver TTL, Scuba Diver Ocean Planet, Scuba Diving and Sport Diver. Hergen Spalink is at the forefront of underwater imaging, capturing sublime images and video using the latest gear, provided by industry-leading equipment manufacturer Nauticam. Todd Winner has been diving and photographing marine life since 1990. As a professional underwater photographer and cinematographer, his work has appeared in commercials, museums and private collections. Todd is a regular contributor to Sport Diver and Scuba Diving magazines and has won over 60 international underwater photography competitions.
Based out of Southern California, Todd works for Nauticam as a content provider and equipment specialist on the west coast. He runs several international and domestic underwater workshops every year and is a proud member of the Ocean Artists Society, which uses ocean art to inspire people around the world to a greater awareness of our need to protect and preserve our natural world. Carlos Quilichini started with Olympus 10 year ago as a technical representative and has been educating customers and training distributor partners. In 2008 he got certified as diver to support the underwater products manufactured by Olympus. As an Olympus camera expert he has been participating in the digital shootout 4 consecutive years. Born in Milan on 29.03.1965, married with 2 kids, I'm currently living in Trieste since 2010. Professional UW diver certification in 1985 for 3 years I was working on platform, before to move as dive guide in a Tour operator all around the world with long time in Maldives, my preferred sea!!! I started my UW photo passion in Maldives with the iconic Nikonos III, then on 1996 my first year within the FIPSAS CMAS circuit competition.
My first competition was within Fish Hunting competition where I was 4 times Italian Champion. In parallel I was also taking part to UW photograph competition in Italy where I'm the current Italian Champion after the 2019 and 2020 won, for the third consecutive time.
